What Is An "Any CMP Games Rifle Match?"

(See the CMP Rule book)

CMP Games Rifles include the M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Springfield (1903 and '03A3), Vintage, Modern Military, and "unlimited" versions of the above.

Basically, any old, military rifle with iron sights fits  into these games.  An "Unlimited" AR15 with a scope can also be used in the "Unlimited Modern Military" category.

Our course of fire is always CMP 'A'.  It consists of the following course of fire:
-5 sighting shots, 5 minutes
-10 shots prone, slow fire, 10 minutes
-10 shots prone, rapid fire, 80 seconds
-10 shots standing, slow fire, 10 minutes

We USUALLY use electronic targets for centerfire rifle, so a phone or tablet is recommended equipment.  We can share some tablets and phones

What's The Rimfire Rifle + Pistol Match?

The main match of the day is the CMP Rimfire Rifle match.  Please see the CMP Rimfire Rule Book.

You may shoot either or both the pistol and rifle matches. Awards will be given for each. The rifle match probably won't get started until about 9:00.

First we will run a (quick) pistol match using the rules from the CMP Pistol EIC match.  This is 30 shots, no sighters, from 25 yards.  In a "real" EIC match slow fire is shot from 50 yards, but we will remain at 25 yards and use the 50 yard target.
Course of fire:
-10 shots timed fire shot in two 5-shot strings
-10 shots rapid fire shot in two 5-shot strings
-10 shots slow fire.
It goes without saying, I hope, that this WILL NOT be a registered CMP match.

Rimfire Rifle Course of Fire:
-5 sighting shots, 5 minutes
-10 shots, prone, slow fire
-10 shots, prone, rapid fire
-10 shots, sitting, slow fire
-10 shots, sitting, rapid fire
-10 shots, standing, slow fire
-10 shots standing rapid fire

Rapid fires are shot as two, separate 5-shot strings

Again, please see the CMP Rimfire Rule Book for further information.  Semi-auto and turnbolt rifles get different amounts of time in the rapid fire (25 vs 30 seconds), you must stand before each rapid fire string, and there are various award categories based on sight-systems (scopes are allowed).  This WILL be a registered CMP match.
